Hyundai strongly believes in the potential of hydrogen, and the manufacturer has demonstrated that fact once again by introducing the FE Fuel Cell concept at the Geneva International Motor Show. The Hyundai FE Fuel Cell is able to travel nearly 800 kilometers before having to fill its hydrogen tank.
According to the Korean manufacturer, the FE Fuel Cell concept will be the basis for the development of a hydrogen-powered sport utility vehicle that will be launched in 2018. We expect that model to be the next generation Hyundai Tucson FCEV.
The Hyundai FE Fuel Cell is equipped with a humidifier that recycles the water generated by the hydrogen engine to improve overall comfort inside the cabin. It is also equipped with a variety of driver assistance systems.
Available at a cost of $ 599 per month to hand-picked clients in the Vancouver area, the current Hyundai Tucson FCEV offers approximately 425 kilometers of range.
Over the next three years, Hyundai plans to bring to market no less than 14 vehicles with electric, hybrid, or hydrogen engines.
