Set to appear at this year’s 2014 Paris Auto Show, Mitsubishi has revealed its new Outlander PHEV Concept-S ahead of schedule.
Mitsubishi initially teased its Outlander PHEV Concept-S by releasing two dark conceptual photos of the vehicle with a news release early in September. However, more information has been released after the automaker revealed its Concept-S prior to the Paris show in October.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S is described as a special design package for the current Outlander PHEV model, with some modifications to both the exterior and interior.
Among the changes are an aggressive X-shaped face, new headlights, and a modified bumper. The style is definitely modern, with a pinch of futuristic. The automaker has actually described the design theme as sporty and sophisticated, meant to express a combination of lively 4×4 performance, excellent on-road performance, and “soothing silent running.”
Inside the vehicle, the new Concept-S offers a red and black themed-interior, with a fine black wood grain trim, silver accents, and leather seats.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S uses a plug-in hybrid EV system, and features a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, along with two electric motors, and a 12-kWh lithium-ion battery.
More information will be available once the Concept-S model has been fully revealed at the 2014 Paris Auto Show next month.
