Electric snowmobiles developed by Quebec-based Taïga Motors are currently being tested in the Whistler region of British Columbia.
Designed by three former McGill students, the eco-friendly snowmobiles promise to be less polluting and less noisy.
According to Electrek.co, the results of the initial tests are conclusive. Users who have had the opportunity to evaluate the electric snowmobiles appreciated their agility and quiet operation, and of course the fact that they are emissions-free.
The only drawback would be the range which is limited to about 100 kilometers. It will be therefore difficult to leave for the day with Taïga Motors’ snowmobiles, but they nevertheless offer several possible applications for patrols or monitors that do not have to cover a wide territory.
