According to various sources, there are currently more than 1,000 pre-orders for the Tesla truck unveiled a few weeks ago. Big names are on the list of companies interested in the electric semitrailer including Wal-Mart, Anheuser-Busch, DHL and now Pepsi who has apparently placed an order for 100 Tesla trucks.
The majority of these companies claim that the reduced cost of using the new Tesla truck combined with the vehicle’s positive image explains the decision to use it for short-distance deliveries.
The first deliveries are expected in 2019 although Tesla has never been very good at meeting its production commitments. Two versions of the Tesla truck are currently available. Offering between 480 and 800 kilometers of range, the Tesla truck is available from $ 150,000 US.
